Grass Fed Beef
Controling access to the pasture daily:
- lessens trampled grass in the field
- provides fresh fodder daily
- allows the eaten areas to regrow
- provides a chance daily to closely look at each animal's condition.
The following pictures were taken Aug. 4, 2002.

As you approach the fence to move it the cattle come ready to eat. No bawling for food, just eagar to eat.

A moveable electric fence controls the amount of pasture the cattle have access to.
It is moved 15 to 20 steps daily in this field.

When the fence is moved the cattle immediately line up to take advantage of the fresh grass.

You can see the pasture is well used.

A fence across the back of the pasture is moved forward as well and you can see the new grass starting to grow on the right where the cattle can no longer trample it.

It's a healthy place to raise calves too.
